Mona Johnson and Jaret Foster of Tournant (Portland, Ore.) have become known for their picturesque, market fresh dinners prepared and served under the stars throughout Oregon. Their approach to food reflects a sense of place and ceremony, drawing inspiration from the seasons and local bounty from the land and sea. Known for their emphasis on live-fire cooking and hands-on communal feasts, Jaret and Mona love to turn a meal into an experience.
Tyson Crowley of Crowley Wines has been making wine in The Willamette Valley since 1995, working at classic Oregon wineries like Erath, Brick House and Cameron. He started his eponymous winery in 2005 focusing on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir made with a focus on purity and a transparent, terroir-driven style. Farming is natural and all the vineyards are dry farmed as well.
Tournant will create a live fire dinner to coincide with August's full moon on the Boathouse dock, paired with Crowley wines. The name for this August full moon, "Sturgeon", comes from the Native Amerian reference to this particular evening, in which the great strugeon are most easily caught in large bodies of water.
