Grant Coulter spent twelve years making wine in the Willamette Valley. Nine of those years were spent at Beaux Freres, where he ended his tenure as winemaker. All the while he and his wife, Renee, dreamed of a project where they could work side-by-side. In 2015 they sold their house, used every spare dollar to buy grapes and barrels, and gave breath to Hundred Suns. They continue to bootstrap every aspect from label design to wax-dipping the bottles themselves. Their wines are natural creatures of time and place.
